FUGU -折紙の発想で作る超軽量膜テンセグリティ-

Grand Prize winner, Form-Finding Design Contest, Colloquium on Structural Morphology 2020. Inspired by the pufferfish, which defends itself by inflating its body and raising its spines.

Proposes a new method for applying origami design techniques to membrane tensegrity structures, identifying Ron Resch patterns and Origamized Mesh as novel forms of origami-derived membrane tensegrity. Design process in four stages: Remesh → Origamize → Unroll → Analyse as Tensegrity. Verified with a 1:30 scale model, and later applied in fashion (noir kei ninomiya 2022 A/W).
