「紙の帽子を折らないか？」
2021年4月、東京藝大・東京大学の2名の学生によって発足した構造ファッションユニット
「paper-hat 紙帽子」。
2人は当時それぞれ建築意匠と建築構造が専門の現役大学生。
通常、二者は協力して建造物のデザインを行うことを仕事とするが、ここでは、その思考と技術をファッションデザイン、特に紙製帽子のデザインに活かすことを試みる。
今回、チーム初となるシリーズは、名の通り、オリ、クシャ、ハコ、ヤマ、ムシ、ハッパ、の６種類の紙製帽子からなる作品群。いずれも、折り紙の技法を用いて、紙の素材と文脈を活かした帽子のデザイン、制作を行う。

Formed in April 2021 by two students — one majoring in architectural design, one in architectural structural engineering — at Tokyo University of the Arts and the University of Tokyo, this "structural fashion" unit began with a simple question: "Why not fold a paper hat?"
The first series comprises six hats — Ori, Kusha, Hako, Yama, Mushi, and Happa — each exploring origami technique and the material properties of paper.
