POP-UP TREE

一枚の紙を折るだけでできる、クリスマスツリー。のりもハサミも使いません。

かたちの原型は、電話の発明者グラハム・ベルが約130年前に考案した「四面体凧」。正四面体の中に小さな正四面体が入れ子になった「フラクタル」構造で、軽くて強く、実際に紐をつければ風の中で凧のように舞います。

A4サイズまで平らに折りたためるので、季節が終われば本棚や引き出しにしまい、翌年また開いて飾ることができます。ペンやスタンプで色をつけて、自分だけのツリーにも。

TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR 2025（2025年12月）、TiSTORE（国営昭和記念公園）、intoART にて展開。

A Christmas tree made by folding a single sheet of paper — no glue, no scissors.

Its form is based on the "tetrahedral kite," devised roughly 130 years ago by Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone: a fractal structure of small tetrahedra nested within a larger one, light yet strong — attach a string and it will fly like a kite in the wind.

It folds flat to A4 size, so once the season ends it can be tucked into a bookshelf or drawer and opened again the following year. Color it with pens or stamps to make it your own.
